Keep hydrated in the hot weather.

In this weather, we all know it’s important to keep hydrated. But, according to the article in today’s Irish Independent, when dehydrated water should not be used as the main replacement fluid as this further dilutes the minerals in the body. Try some diluted fruit juice or squash or a special rehydration solution instead.

Making a Will is Simple

As discussed in the article by Damien McHugh in Senior Times, making a drawing up a will is an easy process with the help of a solicitor and can help remove any complications down the road. This may not be something you want to think about but in the long term it will be of benefit to you and your family. Make sure that your will is drawn up and kept in a safe place. It might be of use to sign a power of attorney between you and  your partner so that in the event of an accident/illness etc the other partner will be able to make decisions/withdraw money etc. Having these things sorted out and in order will help to prevent disputes and confusion over your wishes. Your solicitor will be able to guide you on these procedures and will ensure that your wishes are respected.

Carers Required

Every company is facing their own struggles during the current economic climate. Funnily though, our major challenge is finding the right people available to do the work that we have. While we have hundreds of carers on our books, the hours of work or location does not suit all of them. We need suitable carers for shifts, from 1-2 hours right through to live-in situations, particularly in the southside.

If you think you may be suitable, please contact our Human Resources department on 01 6219101, or email your C.V. to recruitment@privatehomecare.ie. An up-to-date People Handling Certificate is essentail and own transport is advantageous. If you do not have a People Handling Certificate, we are happy to advise you on how/where to do the one day course. We are currently recruiting for carers in Blackrock, Dun Laoghaire, Dundrum, Rathfarnham, Tallaght, Terenure and Walkinstown. We also have live-in positions available in the Greater Dublin Area. (Live-in consists of a minimum of 3 consectutive days and nights)
